Your page on the Hub

Everyone with an account has a page on Motion Hub, at /u/ and their name. It shows the scenes you've published, the ones you made with others, your badges, your updates, and, if you choose, how people can support you. This page also covers asking for feedback and answering questions on the forum.

What's on it

Edit profile changes your picture, your name as shown and a few words about you. A link in them needs your account to be a Member (see Reporting, muting and trust).

Badges

A badge is for something you've done, never for a count of likes or downloads.

BadgeFor
Published a scenehaving a scene of your own published on Motion Hub
Learn authorwriting a tutorial that's published on Learn, read and checked by a moderator
Staff pickone of your scenes being featured by the Hub's team
Learning path finishedfinishing one of the docs' learning paths, every step checked (see Learn and learning paths)
Member for 1 yearbeing part of Motion Hub that long (and 2 years, 3 years…)

They come by themselves, a little while after the thing happens, and the same badges show on the forum. A badge whose reason has gone (the scene taken down, the tutorial hidden) goes too, and comes back if the reason does.

Updates (devlogs)

Post an update on your page writes a short update on what you're making. It's posted in the forum's Devlogs as you, where people reply and like it, and it shows on your page and on the Following page of everyone who follows you. You can name one of your scenes it's about (a public scene rated Everyone), and the update shows on that scene's page too.

You can post updates once your account is a week old and you've published a scene, up to 5 a day. The forum uses your Motion Hub account: the first time, it asks you to Sign in to the forum once, then post again.

Asking for feedback

On your scene's page, Ask for feedback asks people for critique of it. Choose what it's about (Performance, The look, Sensors or Anything else), add a note on what you're unsure about or what you changed, and click Ask. The scene's topic on the forum moves to Feedback with what you asked, and it's listed on the Hub's Needs feedback page.

Feedback is a reply on the forum. Mark the reply that helped most as the solution, and like the others that helped. Stop asking takes it off the list.

Only a public scene rated Everyone has a topic on the forum, so only those can ask.

If you're giving feedback: try the scene first, and say which system you played it on. Start with what works, pick one or two things to change and say why, keep to what the maker asked about, and be kind.

Questions

Ask a question on a scene's page opens a new topic in the forum's Help, with the scene it's about in it (a docs page has Ask about this page on the forum for the same). Questions about a scene that have an accepted answer are listed on its page, under Questions.

Support

If people want to support what you make, you can add links to the services you use, and give your patrons on Patreon early versions. They show behind a Support button on your page and on your scenes' pages. Supporting makers says how.
