Get Motion
Motion is one purchase. Buy it once and it's yours on the computer and the phone.
Where to buy it
- Steam. Windows, Linux and Steam Deck. Steam installs it and keeps it up to date. See From Steam.
- Direct, from Get Motion on Motion Hub. The Windows installer and the Linux packages (Motion Player and Motion Studio, .debs), without Steam. You pay on Stripe's checkout page. The order is sold through Link (Sold through Link, LLC, a Stripe company), which works out the sales tax or VAT where it applies, sends your receipt, and shows on your statement as
LINK.COM*. The price can be shown in your own currency. - Google Play: coming soon. Motion for Android, its Wear OS watch app and Motion Studio for Android come to Google Play after the desktop. There, Motion is free to try, and Motion Full, the full version bought on Google Play, opens the rest (see below).
Motion bought on Steam or direct opens Motion for Android too, once it's out. Motion Studio for Android will have a Google Play listing of its own, and opens once you own Motion, as Studio does on a computer. The Wear OS watch app comes free, in the same listing as Motion for Android. See Install Motion.

Your Motion Hub account
Motion Hub is where your purchase lives. Sign in with Discord, Google, Steam, or your email or name and a password.
- Bought on Steam: sign in to Motion Hub with Steam. The Hub asks Steam, and that's it.
- Bought on Google Play (once Motion for Android is out): the app tells the Hub for you. Signed out, it makes a small account for the purchase.
- Bought direct: you buy while signed in, so it's already on your account.
Your account page shows What you own and your Devices.
Devices
Motion bought direct, and Motion on Android, keep a licence from the Hub. Each licence lasts 30 days, and Motion renews it by itself whenever it starts while you're online (once a day at most), so it works offline for 30 days from the last time Motion started online. Five devices at most; remove one on your account page to make room. Two devices removed within 30 days make room at once; past that, a removed device keeps its place until its last licence runs out.
Wallpapers you already have keep playing without a licence. Studio and Hub downloads wait for one.
Refunds
- Steam and Google Play refunds go through them, under their rules.
- Direct: see Refunds: write to [email protected] within 14 days, and the refund goes back the way you paid. Link can also refund a direct order under its own policy, within 60 days.
A refund ends the purchase: licences stop renewing, and Hub downloads close.
