Content ratings

Every scene on Motion Hub has a rating, so you can choose what you see. Motion Hub allows adult scenes, as long as they're legal, rated and kept to the Community rules.

The ratings

RatingWhat it covers
EveryoneFine for anyone. Landscapes, skies, abstract art, games and calm or eerie moods. A battle with no blood.
MatureSuggestive themes, non-sexual nudity (art nudes, figure studies), strong violence, or disturbing themes.
ExplicitSexual content, or graphic gore.

A scene can also carry two notes, whatever its rating:

Both show on the scene's page and on its card.

Rating your scene

On the Publish page, Who is this for? asks for the rating. There's no default to fall back on: pick the one that fits the strongest part of the scene, and turn on Has fast flashes and Made with AI where they apply. When in doubt, pick the higher rating.

Moderators can change a scene's rating. Its maker is told, with the reason, and can appeal. Rating scenes lower than they need, again and again, breaks the rules. If you see a scene with the wrong rating, report it and say so.

Choosing what you see

What you see, on your account page on Motion Hub (signed out, at /what-you-see), has three choices:

Explicit scenes are always opt-in. They're never shown by default, anywhere: not on Motion Hub, not in Motion Player, Studio or Motion for Android, and not in Motion bought on Steam or Google Play. You see them only once you've chosen Explicit too, and nothing blurred yourself.

If you're not signed in, Motion Hub never shows Explicit scenes, and shows Mature ones blurred unless you choose Only scenes for everyone, which is kept in your browser. If you gave a date of birth and you're under 18, Motion Hub shows only scenes for everyone.

Where it applies

Your choice applies everywhere on Motion Hub: Discover, search, collections, makers' pages, scene links people share with you, and Motion Hub's feeds and API. A scene you can't see doesn't show up, not even as a picture: Explicit scenes' pictures are never shown to anyone who can't see them.

Motion Player, Studio and Motion for Android read your choice from Motion Hub when you're signed in, and apply it to the Hub pages inside them. In Motion for Android, downloading a Mature scene that Motion Hub keeps back asks This scene is rated Mature. Download it anyway? first; a scene you downloaded on that phone before comes without asking again. The same goes for Motion bought on Steam or Google Play: Explicit scenes stay off until you turn them on, and Mature scenes stay blurred until you choose otherwise.

Scenes already in your library are yours to play: the filter is about what Motion Hub shows you.
