Supporting makers

Nobody sells scenes on Motion Hub, but people can support the makers they like: through links to the services makers already use, or as a patron on Patreon. This page covers both, for makers and for the people supporting them.

Where a maker has any of these, a Support button shows on their page and on their scenes' pages. It opens Support this creator, with their links and Patreon, as they've set them up.

Edit profile on your page, then Support this creator:

Support links can be added once your account is a week old.

Motion doesn't vouch for these services, and takes nothing from them: what you arrange there is between you and the people who support you, under that service's own terms. Anyone signed in can Report these links. A moderator keeps them or takes them down, and can stop them being added again.

Patreon

Makers who are on Patreon can give their patrons something on Motion Hub too: some new versions early, and a supporter mark beside their comments on the maker's scenes.

For makers

Open Patreon in your dashboard's menu. Under Patreon perks, click Link your Patreon and approve it on Patreon. (If it says Patreon isn't set up on this Hub, this Hub doesn't offer Patreon perks.) Once it says Your Patreon is linked as a creator., you can make a version early for your patrons:

  1. Publish the version as a draft, or publish it and do this within the hour.
  2. On the scene's Versions page, click Early for patrons on that version.
  3. Choose for how many days, 1 to 30, and click Save.

Until those days are over, everyone else gets the version before it, and your patrons, the moderators and you can download the early one from the Versions page. Once it's public, the people who have the scene are told there's a new version. Make it public now, in the same place, ends it early. A scene needs a version everyone can have before one can be early.

An early version keeps the scene's licence, but nobody can publish a remix of it until it's public.

Unlink Patreon takes your Patreon off Motion Hub. Early versions already set keep their days.

For patrons

In Support this creator, under Patreon, click Link your Patreon and approve it on Patreon. If you're an active patron of that maker, it says You're their patron: you get their early versions., and your comments on their scenes carry the supporter mark. Check my Patreon again asks Patreon again if you've just joined.

Motion Hub asks Patreon about your memberships about once a day. When a pledge ends, the perks end within a few days. Motion Hub keeps only your Patreon id and which campaigns you're an active patron of, never your name, email or how much you pledge. Unlink Patreon, on your dashboard's Patreon page, deletes it all.
